Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: Japan and Haryana to jointly formulate a hydrogen policy
Chandigarh, January 11 - In a dynamic display of economic diplomacy, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is on a one-day tour to Gujarat to attend the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2024 with the mission to attract foreign investments that would propel Haryana into a new era of economic prosperity. During the Summit being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Thursday impressed with the investor-friendly policies of Manohar Sarkar, the companies have shown deep interest in investing in Haryana.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister held one-on-one discussions with representatives of about 10 major companies from Japan and the United States, inviting them to invest in Haryana.   During the meeting with the Japanese delegation, the Chief Minister welcomed the representatives of the companies in the Japanese language, which made them very pleased and enthusiastic. During the meeting, consensus was reached between Japan and the Haryana government on formulating a hydrogen policy in the direction of clean-green energy. Maruti Suzuki has also expressed its desire to adopt the plug-and-play policy and give more emphasis to electric vehicles under the Haryana government's e-vehicle policy. Identification of a site is underway to establish a plant in the state for this purpose.

Microsoft to collaborate with the Haryana government in the field of Artificial Intelligence

During the summit, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal also held a meeting with Mr. Puneet Chandok, President, Microsoft India, and his delegation. During this meeting, the delegation stated that Microsoft would collaborate with the Haryana government in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The Chief Minister said that all kinds of support would be provided to Microsoft by the state government. Soon, a meeting will be organized with representatives in Chandigarh, where Microsoft will present its roadmap regarding upcoming initiatives.

A Joint Collaboration Cell to be established separately for the assistance of Japanese companies

During the meeting, representatives stated that Haryana has been a mother state for Japanese companies. In 1980, Maruti Suzuki established its first unit in Gurugram. Since then, several Japanese companies have come to Haryana. The Chief Minister directed state government officers to establish a Joint Collaboration Cell for the convenience of Japanese companies, which will continuously engage with representatives of Japanese companies to expedite the plug-and-play model.

Discussion was also held on opening a Japanese school in Gurugram during the meeting. It is the first occasion when officers from the Japanese government have attended the summit along with representatives of Japanese companies. It is fortunate for Haryana that representatives from the Japanese government were present during the meeting, and they assured Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal that full support would be provided by the Japanese government to Haryana.

During the summit, the Chief Minister had discussions with representatives from Japanese companies including Jetro, Denso Corporation, Maruti Suzuki, Yamanashi Hydrogen, Air Water Company, Toyotsu Ambika Automotive Safety, JCCII India, and representatives from the United States, including Blackstone, UPS Logistics Company, and Microsoft.

Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Sh. Yash Garg also remained present on this occasion.
