Success of "Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao" campaign reflects positive improvement in Gender Ratios – CM Haryana
Chandigarh, January 20 - "With the spirit of Antyodaya, we have worked for the development of the common people," said Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal. He highlighted the successful campaigns, such as "Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao," which brought about significant improvements in gender ratios across the state. Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal was answering questions in a ‘Samvad’ programme at Manav Rachna University, Faridabad on Saturday.

         The Chief Minister stated that January 22 is a historic day for all of us. He emphasized the importance of lighting lamps in every home on this day. Reflecting on the achievements of the state government over the past nine years, the Chief Minister said that we have worked for the development of the common people with the spirit of Antyodaya. He said that he has understood the grassroot problems of the farmers and worked to resolve them. Answering a question, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that 9 years ago the gender ratio of the girls in the state was 871. After this, successful campaigns like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao were launched and today the state’s sex ratio peaked at 932.

        Chief Minister Manohar Lal further stated that corruption, crime, and caste-based politics have been eliminated in Haryana. The establishment of an Anti-Corruption Bureau has led to stringent actions against individuals involved in corrupt practices. He highlighted continuous efforts for the development of farmers, promoting natural farming over traditional methods.

         He said that it is our moral duty to save water for future generations, hence we appealed to the farmers to reduce the paddy crop and also provided financial assistance to the farmers if they switched to alternative crops. He said that in the last 9 years we have given Rs. 11,000 crore as assistance to the farmers.

         On this occasion, many dignitaries including Union Minister of State of Power and Heavy Industries, Sh. Krishan Pal, State Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli, Rajya Sabha, MP Kartikeya Sharma, MLA, Smt. Seema Trikha, MLA, Sh. Narender Gupta, MLA, Sh. Rajesh Nagar, besides other dignitaries were present.
